Visit the Alabama Museum of Natural History on October 13 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM for a free event to celebrate National Fossil Day and the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations!
This year’s theme is Late Cretaceous and we’ll have activities and tables featuring the Alabama Paleontological Society, The University of Alabama Museums’ Department of Museum Research and Collections, University of Alabama Geology, The University of Alabama Evolutionary Studies Club, and more!
From 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM, Dr. Takehito Ikejiri will be giving a talk titled “Diversity and mass extinction of marine vertebrates in Cretaceous Alabama tides: a new insight toward the end of the dinosaur era”.
We’ll also be handing out the Alabama Avocational Paleontologist Award to the 2021 recipient!
