Education Internship

Do you love museums and enjoy working with the public? The Alabama Museum of Natural History is looking for an education intern that will help with the design and implementation of education-related programs and events. You will gain valuable experience leading tours, planning events, and preparing educational materials.

Time Commitment

Hours per week are dependent upon internship requirements for college credit. Intern will meet with the Education Outreach Coordinator once a week in person. Internship start and end dates are negotiable.

Internship Duties

  • Intern will work with the Education Outreach Coordinator on one major project.
  • Intern will assist with large-scale events including set up, break down.
  • Intern will research, pitch, and develop programming ideas that connect to the mission of the Alabama Museum of Natural History.
  • In addition to working on these projects, the education intern will be asked to assist with regular education duties including delivery of pre-existing programs to student and adult groups.

Who Should Apply?

Students with a background in natural science, education, museum studies, or a related discipline.
